The Atmosphere

A delightful lakeside locale now becomes the setting for a beautiful retirement Community. Welcome to The Lakeshore. The pleasures of a getaway, the comforts of home.

A breathtakingly beautiful panorama is just the beginning of The Lakeshore story. This exciting retirement community at the southern tip of Lake Washington opens a new chapter of secure and enjoyable living for older adults. Located in the established Bryn Mawr neighborhood near Renton, The Lakeshore offers a fine combination of accommodations, programs and personal services that is unmatched in the greater Seattle area’s south end.

An Invitation From All of us at The Lakeshore

We’re proud of our handsome apartments, lovely gardens and shared amenities. We believe we offer the warmth of a stately private home, and feel you’ll find here many opportunities for recreation and lively involvement.

Equally important is how our staff feels about serving our community. We define "community" as the rich relationship between all of us—from the friendly housekeeping assistant who changes the linens to the registered nurse in our Wellness Clinic. We enjoy handling day-to-day details so you can focus on more fulfilling activities.

We look forward to an opportunity to meet you, to find out what matters most to you as you explore retirement living options. We believe you’ll find The Lakeshore as enjoyable a place as we do! Please visit us soon.

The Community

The Lakeshore is a prime example of an ERA Care community—great location, well-designed buildings, beautiful landscaping, secure grounds and walks, attractive and functional interior spaces, spacious apartments, lots of inviting places to meet and do things, exercise and hobby areas — all provided for an affordable monthly rent with no buy-in fees or hidden costs.

Speaking of apartments, we have a wide range of floorplans to choose from. We feature studios, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms—even two-bedrooms with two baths! And yet, among these four options we’ve avoided the "cookie-cutter" feel you sometimes get with a retirement community layout. We’ve worked closely with our architect and interior designer to make sure that each apartment looks a little bit different from the next to reflect the individuality of each resident.

The Lakeshore Neighborhood

Special Views, Special Climate, A Very Special Atmosphere.

Lake Washington, with its 71 miles of shoreline, is a metropolitan treasure. It is beloved for its waterfront communities, lake-view neighborhoods and dockside residences.

The Lakeshore has been designed to maximize the views, amenities and charm of living near the water. We also look out over the end of Renton’s municipal airfield, which lends itself to the pleasing rhythm of small-plane activity.

For those who already know and love the Renton area, The Lakeshore is a nice addition to the neighborhood. For those who have yet to discover the charm and atmosphere of South Lake Washington, you’re in for a nice surprise.

Your Health

A Wellness Program Jointly Designed by the School of Nursing and ERA Care

Our pioneering collaboration with the University of Washington School of Nursing gives The Lakeshore a unique combination of health-promotion and wellness programs. Helping residents stay active and healthy is highly emphasized. That’s why we have the nutritious menu, the resident gardens and P-patches, the exercise classes, etc. For basic care we have a Wellness Clinic on site, which offers health-care planning, health promotion, blood-pressure testing and foot care. All are available on a fee-for-service basis to campus residents.

For those who need more personalized care, we have beautifully designed assisted-living accommodations. These apartments offer privacy and independence with a variety of services to choose from according to individual need. Those living in the independent apartments also appreciate the fact that we offer these services, whether for a short stay (to recover from injury or illness) or for ongoing residency (no need to move to another community), as space is available.

  Wellness Without Walls.
The Wellness Clinic on the premises is managed by a registered nurse. There is a professional team approach to assessing any major health concerns of community members and planning for future needs.
